“You can fool all of the people some of the time; and some of the people all of the time; but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” (This was one of Lincoln’s favorite sayings.)
These once popular American proverbs expressed the wary expectations of people who had endured, or watched others endure, the sad, sometimes life ruining consequences of being “sold ‘a pig-in-a-poke”, suckered, snookered, conned, taken in, played for a fool, etc. Americans didn’t just learn by doing. They learned from being hard done by. Thanks to such learning, Americans once had a reputation for shrewd common sense.
These days we are supposed to be more sophisticated, “worldly wise”, “street smart”, shrewd, “clued-up”, “clued-in”, “in-the-know”, etc. Yet there’s no slang in the book that adequately describes how pathetically some folks are letting themselves be played by the elitist faction androids handpicked to be our “leaders” and “candidates”. Tricked out, as it were, with all the CGI virtual reality backdrops their money masters’ billions can buy, these political avatars eagerly step through their assigned task of debasing the nation’s political life.
Among the people taken in by them are some of the folks who are commenting or responding (on Facebook, in comments on this blog or WND, or by email) to the articles I have written in recent days. Despite the well documented facts of Mitt Romney’s record; despite his career pattern of saying whatever serves his ambition; despite continual betrayals by the GOP’s elitist faction leadership (which include since 2010, handing Obama more and more unconstitutional power); they want to slam the door on anyone who suggests that no sane person would take take Mitt Romney or any of the elitist faction GOP politicians who support him, at their word.
The elitist money masters who fabricated Romney’s nomination have taken the enslaving stratagems Zaphnath-Paaneah passed on to the Biblical Pharaohs to new heights. First they induce famine with policies that collapse the middle class economy, but give them opportunities to amass enormous wealth. Then they send out their demagogues to bait the people whose prosperous livelihood they have destroyed with promises of free health care and millions of jobs to replace the ones they purposely exported or destroyed.
What’s worse, they have rewarded themselves with billions of dollars taken from the people by a tax system that systematically violates their constitutional rights; and by means of an orgy of increasing debt that has virtually destroyed the good faith and credit of the American people.
Despite all this, there are still Americans willing to play along with the fraternal twin party scam that these elitist forces use to get the American people to legitimize and pay tribute to the very people who are despoiling them. Some of these elitist faction players have been and expect to be well rewarded. So they dutifully parrot the talking points both Parties are using to create the impression of real differences where there are none; and an historic moment of decision, when the decision (favoring elitist socialism) has already been made. All the brouhaha is to discourage those who see through the scam from speaking out, though inwardly they long for some way to turn the tables.
The irony is that the aspersions being cast on one side and the other have some truth to them. The elitist faction is using Obama to move the country into the grip of tyrannical socialism. It is using the GOP to mask and legitimize policies that export American jobs. It is using both Parties to do the same with respect to effacing America’s borders and diluting the sovereignty of the American people. It is using both sides, in their different ways, to assault the ideas that sustain the moral courage and self-confidence of the people.
This de-moralization of America is the keystone of the elite faction’s destruction of constitutional self government. We see this in the three issues on which its partisan wings converge: a) the effort to ostracize those who refuse to accept any violation of the nascent child’s God-endowed unalienable right to life; b) the effort to stigmatize those who reject homosexuality as a basis for marriage and family life (because this substitutes government fabricated rights for the God-endowed unalienable rights of the natural family); and c) the bipartisan refusal to respect the Constitution’s eligibility requirement for the Office of President of the United States (which refusal establishes a precedent for the elitist faction to amend the Constitution, by fiat, thus effectually eliminating all constitutional constraints on elitist abuse of government power.)
Along with the purblind partisans on both sides, however, there are many people with goodwill toward their country who play along with the elitist faction scam because they think that they have no choice. This is especially true of people whose involvement in the Tea Party derives from authentic outrage at the bi-partisan betrayal of grassroots Americans. It’s also true of people deeply concerned that the elitist leaders of the fraternal twin parties have agreed to abandon America’s moral identity as they deal with the three bi-partisan convergence issues mentioned above.
The approach to the November election I outlined in my WND article this week (and posted here earlier today) is a way to make it clear that the people disenfranchised by the elitist leaders of the fraternal twin-party system do not have to settle for rubber stamping a false alternative, either side of which leads to the destruction of America’s political and moral identity. The suggested approach doesn’t require a lot of money or effort. The aim is to agree on a common voting pattern that sends a message to the elitist faction and the people it has placed in control of both parties: We are here. We see through the elitist faction political con. We will have none of it. And because we remain free in mind, heart and spirit, we withdraw our confidence from both the so-called major Parties that have betrayed us.
And to send this message we will use, as it were, a world reaching electronic billboard that takes the private keys of our ballots; and combines them with the public key of a pre-agreed and publicized pattern in their use; in order to broadcast throughout the nation and the world the message of our principled, independent voting power.
How many of us in recent years have echoed in some form the feeling expressed in the famous imprecation from Shakespeare: “A PLAGUE ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES”. On election day, all who want to send that message can do so. By splitting our ticket in a simple way, we can translate that justified repudiation of the elitist twin party scam into a shout heard round the world. We’ll say NO to OBAMA. We’ll say NO to ROMNEY. We’ll say a resounding YES to the REPUBLICAN PLATFORM by voting for every other conscionable Republican UP AND DOWN THE LINE.
