The “Platform Republican” aim- to restore confidence in the conservative voters’ independent strength

…I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man” (Thomas Jefferson)

On more than one occasion I’ve likened the elitist faction’s twin-party sham to a long running con game.  It’s the kind of thing the IM force on Mission Impossible often did to get cooperation or information from their adversaries.  In terms of today’s technology we would say that they constructed a virtual reality in which team members played roles intended to get their mark to do or say what was needed.

This kind of elaborate deception is a form of compulsion.  It bespeaks a tyrannical impulse I have talked about before (The Thought Tyrants) in the context of the elitist faction’s determination to silence all discussion about Obama’s eligibility (or lack thereof) for the Office of President.  By limiting the purview of ideas and possibilities people have to consider, tyrants and would-be tyrants aim to structure their choices.  They have a point, since its difficult to make a choice you either can’t conceive of, or dismiss as contrary to your character or abilities.

At one time elections in the United States were actually intended to offer people a real opportunity for rational choice.  Deception was commonly a part of the process, but mainly as a means to achieve the decisive objective, which was to persuade people to cast their vote for you.

Today, deception is the substance of the electoral process, in much the same way the aim of a good movie is to draw people into the story and characters it depicts.  The ostensible purpose of a movie is to entertain, i.e., to offer people a pleasant way to pass the time.  The aim of the current electoral process is to “beguile the time”, which is to say, so to mold the voters’ sense of it that they feel compelled to move this way or that, regardless of their actual preferences.  The fabrication is more cleverly executed than the electoral contrivances in the countries of the old Soviet Empire.  But the compelling purpose is the same- to translate the pervasive fear characteristic of tyrannical regimes into an outcome that gives the appearance of choice where there is in fact no freedom.

This year’s Romney/Obama match-up is the first in my lifetime that involves two candidates so obviously similar in the content and suppositions of their official actions that it’s hard to see the significant difference between them.  Both sides are therefore seeking to play upon fear and prejudice to poke and prod people to the polls.  There, like thoughtless cattle, voters will submit to be counted on their way to what amounts to their institutional slaughter as a sovereign people.  For when the smoke clears, either way the election goes, the effectual reality of their sovereignty as a people will be gone.

In this situation, the most imperative thing is to get people to wake up and in some way signify to one another their rejection of the sham.  In terms of preserving their liberty the election is not about which of the twin party candidates they choose (both mark the end of liberty).  It’s about whether they will exercise their choice in a way that throws off the mental shackles that presently make them feel bound to choose between the candidates they’re offered, though neither represents them.

Some way is needed to vote, and be seen to have voted, for neither of the choices offered.  But unless voters who thus negate the party sham find some positive way to signify their strength, the demonstration effect of their actions will be lost.  This means that they must concentrate their votes on a positive gesture, one that affirms their commitment to restore republican self-government, while at the same time demonstrating the independent political strength the friends of liberty have to depend on.

The GOP Platform offers a point upon which real conservatives can concentrate these positive votes.  The Platform is repudiated by the GOP wing of the elitist faction. But they must nonetheless tout its conservative character  in order to bring conservative voters to the polls.  Moreover, though imperfect in some particulars, the language of the Platform represents the longstanding and very real commitment of a solid majority of GOP voters to the founding principles and moral spirit of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.  Such people may not always reason correctly from those principles to this or that application of them.  But it is their real goal to apply them; something we cannot say for Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and their elitist faction cohorts.  Also, by concentrating on a result that aims to produce the largest possible number of votes for the GOP’s Congressional and Senate candidates, the Platform Republican approach reminds Americans that the legislature is the main capacitor of the people’s Constitutional power.

The “Platform Republican” approach to the 2012 election is not about lifting up some candidate or other.  It’s about lifting up the confidence of the people themselves, so that they will once again be struck by the importance and feasibility of asserting their independent electoral strength.  And it’s about doing so in a way that escapes the arrogant dictation of the elitist powers now smugly assuming that they have rendered any such escape impossible.

[WILL YOU SAY NO TO OBAMA? WILL YOU SAY NO TO ROMNEY? WILL YOU SAY NO TO SOCIALISM, WHATEVER PARTY LABEL IT WEARS?  WILL YOU JOIN IN GIVING AN UNMISTAKABLE, VISIBLE POLITICAL MANDATE TO THE GOP’S “PLATFORM REPUBLICANS”?  IF YOU WILL CONSIDER THE “PLATFORM REPUBLICAN” VOTER STRATEGY FOR THE 2012 ELECTION, JUST SEND ME AN EMAIL AT ALAN@LOYALTOLIBERTY.COM. PUT “YES I WILL” IN THE SUBJECT LINE. NO FURTHER MESSAGE IS NEEDED.  OF COURSE YOUR ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIONS WILL BE WELCOMED. AS THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS APPROACH DEVELOPS, I’LL SEND EMAIL UPDATES TO THE REPLY ADDRESS YOU USE. ALSO, PLEASE SHARE THIS IDEA WITH OTHERS SO THEY CAN CONSIDER IT FOR THEMSELVES.]

Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? (Galatians 4:16)

Alan: is the RP (Republican Platform), as written, good enough to place my vote toward? Its rhetoric does not read like GOD’s ‘platform’, because it does not confess GOD’s Word and Christ’s right to rule as its basis (same problem it had when slavery was okayed and natives’ lands were confiscated). The homosexual issue is not addressed properly. For example, as the Law currently stands, my 2 grandchildren can be picked up by Child and Family Services and placed with a ‘married’ homosexual couple to ‘raise’ them (my Illinois), Making America Under GOD, means making an affirmation in/on His WORD, and neither Obama, Romney, or the RP will do that; but wait until Christ returns and He will get that job done. Imagine what will change, and work toward those goals; I think on it every day. Its’ start is simple: as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

There is still a much better alternative which you have overlooked. You miss the fact that God has taken His Hand off of America. God is not about to restore America. He has an infinitely greater plan and purpose: the perfecting of the Bride of Christ and the removal of evil from this world. It is the end of the age (Greek “chairos”) of the nations (“ethnos” in Luke 21:24), the Divinely appointed period of time in which God chose the governmental institution of nations to constrain evil in fallen men after the flood (Genesis 10). We have entered into the final escalation of wickedness prior to its destruction at the return of our Lord and Savior to establish His Millennial Reign. The window for the establishment of the one world government of the islamic anti-Christ opens next year, 2013. Focus on what we men can do in our natural self-life apart from Him will cause us to miss what He is doing. Missing what our Lord is doing is what empowers tyranny to reign over us.

    I AM Stunned!
    I sit at my computer
this morning in total shock and amazement. I’m reminded of a TV
series I use to watch as a kid, “The Twilight Zone.” I wonder,
“Have I entered the Twilight Zone and not been aware of it?”

Why do I say this. I
am a Canadian citizen who has always admired the United States of
America for it’s stand on basic freedoms. The freedom of speech, the
freedom of religion, the freedom of assembly etc.

Yet as I sit here I have
witnessed over the last eleven years the almost total eradication of
many of those freedoms and the constriction of the rest.

    After the worst attack
on an American embassy in it’s history the formerly free and brave
country of America sits passively, whimpering like an emasculated
dog. Where is the outrage, why are there not protest in the streets
calling for the Libyan embassy to be closed down in DC along with the
other Muslim countries threatening the US.

    Why, when America is
trillions of dollars in debit and yet the American government is
sending millions of dollars to countries like Egypt, Syria and Libya?
Where are the brave American’s I use to admire. Why are they not
organizing and marching on Washington to protest the loss of
freedoms, the lunacy of funding countries that hate them and the
    cowards they have for leaders.

    This goes way beyond
Democrats and Republicans. The whole governmental system is corrupt
and compromised by self interest, greed and megalomania. Where are
the people, where are the courageous, the brave, who will take to the
streets and not be intimidated by the goons in government?Who will
not go quietly in the night, who will not be silent and who will not
quit until freedom reigns again in that nation?

    Unfortunately this is
not an episode of the ‘The Twilight Zone,” and there will be not
commercial break. This is surreal but it is the reality we face. If
things do not change drastically the America that was once admired
and loved will cease to exist.

    The answer is not in
government, the answer is in God fearing people doing what is right,
in the face of the godless tyranny that is sweeping through their
    land.

    May God help America to
    stand strong and brave again.
Alan, kept doing what you are doing and God Bless America.

freedoms, the lunacy of funding countries that hate them and the
      cowards they have for leaders.”

There is a time to fight, and a time not to fight. When the forces that exist took power – beginning with Bush 1 and progressing from there, the vast majority of the American people fell asleep, since Reagan had him for a VP. It was an effective strategy, and those of us that opposed this realized that we had been beaten.

There is an ebb and flow to history. Personally, I believe that America is being judged for murdering some 50 million of our children – a horror that outweighs all the murders of all the World Ward, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao combined. Those that our nation has murdered were all innocents. That being the case, why would I fight to preserve what has been found guilty by the Supreme Judge, and has been sentenced?

Nowhere in the Scriptures are the words “God bless America”. No, quite the contrary, they are “nations will rise and nations will fall”, and “Thy Kingdom Come”.

There will come a day when Obama will shed bitter tears over what he has done, but still, God’s purpose will be accomplished.

Terry: A serious answer: I just had an email exchange with the head of one of the premier conservative Judicial Appointments Watchdog groups, which said:
“Above is an excellent article by Gregg Nunziata, former Chief Nominations Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee.Gregg makes many good points – but the two that really stick out are:
    1) The next president could fill as many as 3 seats on the court (perhaps more),
    2) The next president must not appoint “stealth” candidates.
My own comments here: the stealth approach has failed miserably. It is worth fighting for SCOTUS nominees with a demonstrable record of applying the Constitution as written. We need only look at the performance of President’s Bush stealth nominee (Roberts) and his non-stealth nominee (Alito) to see the difference.”

I replied to this email saying: “Everything in Romney’s record points toward nominations that are openly leftist, not just “stealth nominations”. Given his proven inclination, what good are feckless exhortations to the contrary?”

    To this I received the reply;
    “Yes sir- I agree!
I do think that conservatives will need to be ready to fight against his nominees from the Senate. We were able to force Bush to drop Harriet Miers and appoint Alito. I thiink we will likely need to do the same thing with Romney.I don’t trust Romney and expect we’ll have to fight him.”

Someone who live day in and day out with the realities of the process doesn’t trust Mitt Romney. Why do you? You will note that there was no dispute about Romney’s record and what it portends. It makes no sense to ignore the facts and base your expectations on wishful thinking. The “Platform Republican” approach aims to strengthen the confidence, and demonstrate the resolve, of the real conservative voters, no matter which way the election goes. That strengthening will stiffen the backbone of the GOP in the U.S. Senate against bad appointments, whoever is making them. Without it we will get bad appointments either way.
This is not wishful thinking. It’s sound advice that prepares for the defense of constitutional liberty no matter the outcome of the election. When wishful thinking proves wrong, you’ll just wring your hands and wish we had been given a better choice. But if conservatives follow the “Platform Republican” approach they will have the strength that comes from preparing for the future in a way that takes account of actual experience, not just baseless conjecture. They will be ready to back the GOP Senators if they fight and defeat bad appointments, and they will signal their resolve and capacity to withdraw their support if the GOP caves to leftist appointments, no matter who makes them. Ponder this, and decide which strategy is best for America’s survival in freedom. I think it’s obvious.
Conservatives must prepare to deal with the reality: we’re going to get a proven socialist and constitution destroyer no matter which way the election goes. We will only save liberty if we prepare ourselves with unmistakably proven, and therefore confident, independent strength available to us no matter who wins the “we have no choice” sham election.

    • Terry Rayburn September 12, 2012, 7:05 pm

Alan, I’m not sure you answered my question. I didn’t say I trusted Romney to nominate strict-constructionist justices without some “pushing” from the Right.

But could we not guarantee that Obama’s picks would be Ginsburg-types no matter how much Congress squealed?

Your own example of Bush withdrawing his Liberal pick and substituting Alito is a good one.

That sort of thing done similarly with Romney is the only hope (humanly speaking) for any Conservative Justice nominations.

It would be sad to stiffen the spines of Conservative congressman (a worthy goal) only to lose the Presidency to Obama.

  • God's Way September 12, 2012, 1:42 pm

Dr. Keyes, you have been and continue to speak the word of the Lord in this matter. WAKE UP TEA PARTIERS, WAKE UP AMERICA! Be BOLD to act as God would have us to! Do not vote for either Obama or Romney, even WITH GOP’s trump card of adding Paul Ryan — it is all deception and will do us no good! BUT do vote for Senators and Congressionals who LOUDLY stand for America’s Declaration principles and the Constitution! God will honor us individually and collectively in so doing!! I’m proud of you sir for bringing the prophetic word of the Lord to us. Keep going and never let up! God bless you and your family.

  • Terry Rayburn September 12, 2012, 10:08 am

Alan, a serious question: IF Romney wins, and IF he nominates relatively strict-constructionist Justices to the Supreme Court, will you admit that it was a good thing that we didn’t elect Obama again and end up with some more Ruth Ginsburgs for decades? And that they weren’t equivalent candidates after all? Or will you persist in saying it made no difference?

  • Rimma September 12, 2012, 9:38 am

If Obama will win, but Congress will be Republican, may be Congress
will stop him from most radical steps? Or he will jump over USA and get
    approval in UN?

If Romney will win, Congress will not go against its own party, so
we will be in a bigger problem?

    Which one is less evil?

  • Here_is_my_reply September 11, 2012, 8:22 pm

Talking to some conservatives on twitter about this, I
came away feeling they were like cattle lining-up
outside a slaughterhouse with two doors, one marked
Democrat and the other marked Republican.

Sadly, they thought it of the utmost importance
    which door they entered by.

  • Rick Turner September 11, 2012, 6:04 pm

It comes down to a choice of a man that hates everything that America stands for or an elitist who is not what he is portraying himself to be. What other option do we have? If we vote for a write-in candidate or for an independent its as good as a vote for the incumbent administration.

    • alkeyes September 11, 2012, 7:09 pm

Rick- Vote for neither, but then vote to get a majority in Congress impressed with the power of conservatives determined to restore and preserve republican self-government. Stop thinking as if the we are already under some kind of Presidential dictatorship. A Congress with an unmistakable and solid conservative mandate has the Constitutional tools to restore the Constitutional balance. If the GOP refuses, (by continuing to cooperate in the slide to socialism) the conservative grassroots will have demonstrated (to themselves) their electoral strength. That demonstration will finally give them the confidence to move out on their own, leaving the GOP behind. Think about it. (BTW, since the essence of America is liberty and self-government based on Declaration principles,, and the elitists (including the GOP faction) reject that, none of them are in principle that different from Obama . That’s the challenge we now face, and the whole reason for the crisis we’re in.

Have you not heard of the Constitution Party? That is where my vote will be placed!
